Summer Hiking

To clear up any possible doubts in your mind, if you are visiting the Vail/ Beaver Creek area, and you like to hike into beautiful pristine places, then the wilderness areas in which we hike are going to satisfy your soul. Splendid beauty, miles and miles of quiet scenic trails. High lakes, high peaks, waterfalls, rushing streams... it's all here at your fingertips, you just have to know where to go... That's just it, what is the best trail for your ability level - this match is what Trail Wise Guides specializes in.

NATURE HIKES - We're crazy about the natural world! We love wildflowers, wildlife, mushrooms, berries, birds, trees and plants. We also know a lot about edible and medicinal plants, how the native Americans used them, and how settlers relied on nature's food and medicine. We love sitting, listening, and feeling the presence of the universal connection in nature. Our hikes are private tours so we can focus on what you'd like to learn about, and take things at your pace.

Imagine sitting next to a wilderness waterfall, an occasional humid mist dampening your face, you look up at the sheer valley walls above, so steep and rugged it feels like a place no one has been before... ah, so relaxing...

ADVENTURE HIKING - Play amongst the peaks! These 3/4 and full-day hikes take physically fit, adventuresome hikers to the most magical spots in the wilderness. Imagine an isolated mountain lake at timberline, surrounded by the most jagged and awesome towering ridgeline you've ever seen. Imagine yourself on the summit of a 13,000' mountain peak, high above the timberline, in the middle of a patch of brilliant wildflowers as far as the eye can see.

There are so many peaks both near and far that they're impossible to count... literally hundreds of peaks in sight. And solitude... maybe you'll see a handful of other people out on the trail, maybe no one at all. Now that we're at the top, let's break for lunch... then maybe a high altitude nap!

We provide: Lunch, water, fanny pack or day pack, rain poncho, trekking pole.

Guides carry: extra hats, gloves, water filter, first aid kit, cell phone, picnic blanket, binoculars, sunscreen, duct tape, and more!

You Should Bring: Good walking shoes or hiking boots, a windbreaker or Gore-Tex shell, a hat for shade, sunglasses, and your camera.
